Cross-country skiers know this one well. Tilly Jane Ski Trail #643 heads downhill and east from Tilly Jane Campground on Mount Hood’s northeast side, finishing at Forest Road 3512 close to Cooper Spur Ski Area.
Almost right away you reach the Tilly Jane Trail #600A junction, and the Tilly Jane Shelter comes a tenth of a mile later. About 1.9 miles beyond the shelter, Polallie Ridge Trail #643A branches off, and the final 0.7 mile runs beside Doe Creek. From Hood River, drive Highway 35 south to the Polallie Trailhead, then take Cooper Spur Road and Cloud Cap Road up to the campground.
