Grouse Point Trail #517 crosses the Roaring River Wilderness from Frazier Turnaround to Forest Road 4611. Along the way it skirts Frazier Mountain, runs through Cache Meadows, follows the ridge above Serene Lake and reaches Grouse Point, with several looks north at the mountains.
Beyond the Dry Ridge Trail #518 junction, it drops steeply for about 2.1 miles to the Roaring River, around 1,600 feet, where the crossing can be very hard in high water. A waterfall is roughly 0.2 mile upstream from the river. The west end is remote, and the tread can be faint in places. Frazier Turnaround is reached from OR Highway 224 by way of Forest Roads 57, 58 and 4610.
