In the Roaring River Wilderness, Huxley Lake Trail #521 leads down to Huxley Lake, a small, fairly secluded lake with wide views of the surrounding mountains. Start at Lookout Springs, reached on Abbott Road (Forest Road 4610) from Highway 224 across from Promontory Park, and walk Corral Springs Trail #507 south 0.4 mile to the junction.

From there the trail descends southwest, joins an old roadbed, and comes to the lake spur. The lake, 0.1 mile down that spur, is about 2.4 miles from Lookout Springs. The main trail goes on another mile to its lower end at Forest Road 4611, dropping from 3,960 feet to 2,440 feet in all.
