Forest Service lands, roads, trails and recreation sites in the Grasshopper Fire area east of Mt. Hood are closed to protect visitors and firefighters. In effect through December 31, 2026.
Read the official closure orderFew hikers use Post Camp Trail #467, a more difficult connector in the Badger Creek Wilderness between Mud Spring Trail #466A and Badger Creek Trail #479. That makes it a quiet way to reach Badger Creek Trail.
Start from the turnout where spur road 4811-015 leaves Forest Road 4811, reached from White River Road (Forest Road 48) by way of Wamic or OR Hwy 35, and walk Mud Spring Trail #466A north 0.3 mile. Post Camp Trail then runs 1 mile to Pine Creek Trail #465, crosses Pine Creek on a bridge and continues 1.7 miles to its end at Badger Creek Trail #479. Volunteers with the Back Country Horsemen of Oregon help with maintenance.
