Few hikers use Pine Creek Trail #465, a connector in the southwestern Badger Creek Wilderness between Post Camp Trail #467 and Badger Lake Road. Hunters find it useful for reaching the country between Drop Creek and Pine Creek, which is good mule deer habitat.

Start at the Post Camp Trailhead at the end of Forest Road 4811-015, which has room for horse trailers, and walk Post Camp Trail one mile to Pine Creek. From there, steep switchbacks climb to a ridge of Ponderosa savanna, then a gully topped by a spring, the only water on the route. Higher up, the trail runs through dry forest and can be faint and hard to follow.
