This short, level spur leaves Timothy Lake Trail #528 and ends at Meditation Point Campground on Timothy Lake. No road reaches the campground, so its handful of sites, each with a picnic table, can only be reached on foot or by boat.

The drive starts 40.2 miles east of Sandy on Highway 26, where you turn south on Skyline Road (Forest Road 42). From there, Forest Roads 2660, 2600, 58 (Abbott Road) and 5890 lead on until you meet Forest Road 5890-270, about 4.7 miles along 5890. Park there and walk southeast to Timothy Lake Trail #528 where 5890-270 ends.

Getting there

From Sandy, OR

  1. travel 40.2 miles east on US Hwy 26.
  2. Turn right (south) at Skyline Road (Forest Road 42) and travel 1.1 miles.
  3. Turn right at Forest Road 2660 and travel 2.5 miles.
  4. Turn left at Forest Road 2600 and travel 1 mile.
  5. Turn right at Abbott Road (Forest Road 58), travel 250 feet and turn left at Forest Road 5890.
  6. Travel 4.7 miles to the junction with Forest Road 5890-270.
  7. Park here and hike southeast to Timothy Lake Trail #528 at the end of Forest Road 5890-270.
