Campers at Frog Lake Campground have a quick workout right next door. Frog Lake Trail #530 is short and steep, gaining height fast, and only a little way above the campground it already shows off Mount Jefferson. Drive Forest Road 2610 half a mile from the south end of the Frog Lake Sno-Park & Trailhead, off US Highway 26, to reach it.

The path starts narrow through thick brush, then widens under moss-covered trees as it makes a long climb up the ridge to Frog Lake Butte Trail #484. From that junction, a short climb leads to the south summit of Frog Lake Butte, or the quieter #484 heads north toward Lower Twin Lakes.
