Starting right in Government Camp, Wally’s Tie Trail #755A puts a forest trail within reach of anyone staying in town. It connects Crosstown Trail #755 with Skiway Trail #755B, so hikers can mix and match routes, and it has good views of Mt. Hood and Skibowl. Its wide clearing also suits skiing and snowshoeing.

One way on is from the Thunderhead Sno-Park on Government Camp Loop Road, where a 0.3-mile walk on Skiway Trail leads to the junction. Another is from the Summit Ski Area lot at the east end of town, with 1.5 miles on Crosstown Trail. Put Wally’s Tie, Skiway and Crosstown together for a short loop.
