If a quiet ski tour sounds good, try the Sherar Burn Road Trail. This wide Nordic route runs on a gentle uphill grade between Devils Peak Trailhead and Forest Road 2612, and it is a good place to find some solitude.

Think of it mainly as a winter trail. In years with deep snow, snowmobilers also use Forest Road 2613, so stay alert for them. Devils Peak Trailhead, where the route begins, sits on Kinzel Lake Road, which is the same road as Forest Road 2613.
