At Lost Lake, Old Growth Trail #657 is a short, barrier-free walk among old-growth trees, with plenty of interpretive signs explaining the forest’s ecology. It runs north to south between the Organization Camp and the A Loop Campground, ending where it meets Lakeshore Trail #656.

Start at the trailhead by the C Loop Campground entrance and walk 250 feet west on Lakeshore Express Trail #658 to the north end, then turn left. Lost Lake is reached from Hood River by way of Highway 35, Woodworth Road and the Dee Highway, then Forest Road 13 for the last 13 miles to the campground.
