Barlow Pass works as a trailhead in summer and a Sno-Park in winter. It sits on Highway 35 about 2.6 miles north of US 26, at a little over 4,100 feet in the Hood River Ranger District. The site lies along the Historic Barlow Road, and old-style interpretive signs line the path.

This is a major access point for the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Pioneer Woman’s Grave Trail, Barlow Butte Trail and Mount Hood Wilderness are all nearby. In winter, skiers head out onto ungroomed backcountry trails. The lot holds about 15 cars and often fills on winter weekends, so arrive early and don’t park along the entry road. Vault toilets, no drinking water.
