Just off US Highway 26 in the Zigzag Ranger District, Pioneer Bridle Trailhead sits on Forest Road 2600-522, about half a mile east of milepost 44. It gives access to the Pioneer Bridle Trail, a major mountain bike route linking Government Camp with Rhododendron.

Most people park at Glacier View Trailhead, around the 3,600-foot level, instead. The trail descends for most of its length toward Tollgate Trailhead, around the 1,800-foot level, an 1,800-foot difference between those two trailheads. This trailhead has a restroom but no drinking water.
