Mt. Hood Skibowl is a year-round recreation area in the Zigzag Ranger District with roots going back to 1928, which ranks it among the oldest operating resorts in the country. It started as two separate areas: Skibowl, named for the bowl shape of its upper mountain, and Multorpor, a name built from Multnomah County and Portland.
In winter, nearly 1,000 acres, 69 runs reaching up to expert terrain and 8 lifts serve skiers, snowboarders and tubers, with skiing by day and by night and activities for kids. Summer swaps snow for alpine slides, batting cages and more. From Sandy, drive 27 miles east on US 26 and bear right into the resort area.
