Among the oldest buildings on Mt. Hood, the Tilly Jane A-Frame is a historic cabin in the Hood River Ranger District and a favorite with winter visitors. It sleeps 2 to 20 people and makes a base for hiking, snowshoeing and backcountry skiing, in country where winter conditions often last for most of the year.

In summer, it is a quarter-mile walk through Tilly Jane Campground. In winter, guests come up from the Tilly Jane Sno-Park, either skiing a gently sloping 9-mile road or climbing the historic Tilly Jane Ski Trail, about 2.7 miles with a 1,900-foot gain. Bring backcountry experience, skis or snowshoes and propane canisters, and expect little cell service and no drinking water.
