Surveyor’s Ridge South Trailhead is a small lot in the Hood River Ranger District that serves both Surveyor’s Ridge Trail and Dog River Trail. Both routes offer views of Mt. Hood and are shared by several kinds of trail users, though mountain bikers especially like them for the many ways to link up with other trails and make loops.

From Hood River, travel south on OR Hwy 35 about 12 miles and turn left (east) onto Forest Road 44; watch for the lot on your left in about 3.6 miles. Expect to share the trail and give each other room. There is no restroom or drinking water.
