Plaza Trailhead puts you on Plaza Trail #783 and into the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness, in the Zigzag Ranger District. The trail runs from south to north, and several viewpoints line the section between its junctions with Douglas Trail #781 and Bonanza Trail #786.
Don’t confuse it with Plaza Lake Trailhead, which has a similar name. Directions from Estacada and from Hood River both finish on Abbott Road (Forest Road 4610): the first by way of Tumala Mountain Road and Forest Roads 4614 and 4613, the second by way of US Highway 26, Skyline Road (Forest Road 42) and Forest Road 58. The trailhead is on the left, and there is no drinking water.
