On the south shore of Timothy Lake, Pine Point is a day-use area in the Zigzag Ranger District, around the 3,200-foot level and off Forest Road 57. It has the lake’s main ramp for motorized boats and also suits kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. People come to boat, swim, picnic and fish for kokanee and trout.
You’ll find picnic tables, vault toilets, drinking water and a paved lot with an accessible path to the ramp and shoreline. The site is also a trailhead on the Timothy Lake Trail system, where hikers and bikers can circle the lake or connect to the Pacific Crest Trail. Portland General Electric runs it with the Forest Service.
