Roomy enough for horse trailers, Oak Ridge Trailhead has a loop drive so rigs can pull through. It is the starting point for Oak Ridge Trail #688A in the Hood River Ranger District.

From Hood River, drive about 16 miles south on Oregon Highway 35 to Smullin Road, a mile beyond the Hood River Ranger Station. Turn left, follow Smullin Road until it bends sharply south, and take the dirt road on the left. The trail begins about a quarter mile up that road. There are no amenities and no drinking water, so bring what you need.
