Laurance Lake is the setting for Kinnikinnick Day Use, which sits beside Kinnikinnick (Laurance Lake) Campground in the Hood River Ranger District. From Parkdale, follow Clear Creek Road south for 2.8 miles, then bear right on Forest Road 2840 (Laurance Lake Road) for about 4 miles. The road gets very rough at Eliot Creek and can wash out from glacial melt, so bring a high-clearance vehicle.

It’s a good place to unplug, with lake views, rocky hills around the site, and frequent bald eagle sightings. Anglers and paddlers both use the lake, though there are no rentals, and a boat ramp is nearby. The area is wheelchair accessible, with vault toilets but no drinking water.
