Cooper Spur Mountain Resort sits on Mt. Hood’s north side, run by Mt. Hood Meadows and well liked by younger families. Its full-service ski area has a double chairlift, a pair of tubing lifts and a rope tow for beginners, serving ten alpine runs and two tubing hills for skiing, snowboarding, tubing and alpine touring.

A groomed Nordic trail ties the ski hill to the resort, where cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are the draw. From Sandy, take Highway 26 east 30 miles and Highway 35 north about 16.5 miles, then turn left on Cooper Spur Road. There are restrooms and trailer parking, but no potable water.
