Alder Flat Trailhead is the jumping-off point for Alder Flat Trail #574 in the Clackamas River Ranger District. It sits at about 1,300 feet, and stream fishing is among the things to do here. You’ll find it about 25 miles east of Estacada on Highway 224, on the left side shortly before the Ripplebrook Store.

The lot holds four or five vehicles, with only a little overflow room. There’s no restroom and no drinking water. Fire has burned through parts of this area, so stay alert to fire-weakened trees, slope erosion, mudslides, flash floods and stretches of trail that might be gone.
