Trillium Lake Campground is the most popular place to camp in Mt. Hood National Forest. It sits beside 63-acre Trillium Lake at about 3,600 feet in the Zigzag Ranger District, a couple of miles off US 26 just east of Government Camp. When the sky is clear, campers look out at Mt. Hood.

The lake draws anglers after trout, along with boaters, swimmers and picnickers. There’s a small boat ramp in the campground, a larger one at the nearby day-use area, and an accessible fishing pier. Walk the roughly 2-mile Trillium Loop Trail around the shoreline. Single and double sites suit tents and RVs, each with a table and fire ring, and there are vault toilets and drinking water.
