Tollgate is a campground with a day-use area in the Zigzag Ranger District, set along U.S. Highway 26, roughly 25 miles southeast of Sandy. Its short drive from Portland makes it a handy base for exploring the Mt. Hood area, and it lies southwest of the mountain itself.

Day visitors come for picnicking, with both single and group picnic spots, and for stream fishing. Trails and historic sites are close by, including places along the old Oregon Trail. You will find vault toilets and drinking water on site, so it works well for a day outing.
