Shellrock Creek Campground is a primitive camp on the banks of Shellrock Creek, a small woodland stream that flows to the Oak Grove Fork and on to the Clackamas River. Thick vegetation screens the sites from one another, and the sound of the creek carries through camp. It’s in the Clackamas River Ranger District and seems properly remote.

There’s no restroom and no drinking water, so bring your own water and plan to be self-sufficient. Pack a picnic and settle in by the creek. From Sandy, take Highway 26 beyond Government Camp, turn south on Forest Road 42 (Skyline Road) to Forest Road 57, go west about 7 miles to Forest Road 58, then north about half a mile.
