Roaring River Campground sits opposite the Wild and Scenic Clackamas River, up in the Cascades, within the Clackamas River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest. From Estacada, it’s a 20-mile drive east on Highway 224 to the campground, with no long stretch of back roads involved.

The Riverside Fire caused extensive damage here, and that fire is part of the campground’s history. The Forest Service details shown above describe what’s on site, so look those over first, then plan your visit around the river.
