Peninsula is Olallie Lake’s biggest campground, spread over a broad point of land that reaches out into the water in the Olallie Lake Scenic Area. That shape suits anglers, paddlers, and picnickers alike. Olallie is a big, high-elevation lake, and part of its shoreline borders land of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.
The 2020 Lionshead Fire burned through here, so shade is scarce and a pop-up canopy is worth packing. Recovery work continues, so watch for burned trees, eroded slopes, mudslides, and trails that might be gone. From Estacada, take Highway 224 and Forest Road 46, or come from Highway 26 via Skyline Road. There are vault toilets but no drinking water.
