McNeil Campground is right by the Wild and Scenic Sandy River in the Zigzag Ranger District. It’s set in a mixed lodgepole forest on an old Mt. Hood mudflow, where moss covers the ground. From Highway 26, turn onto Forest Route 18 about a mile past Wemme, then take Forest Road 1825 east.

Plenty of hiking trails are nearby, including Ramona Falls, and there is stream fishing as well as space to picnic. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no drinking water, so bring your own.
