McCubbins Overflow Campground sits next to McCubbins Gulch Campground in the Barlow Ranger District, right inside the designated trail network of the McCubbins Gulch OHV Area. Engines and riders are part of the scene here, so plan on seeing and hearing off-highway vehicles. OHV riding, picnicking and stream fishing are all listed activities.

Facilities are simple: vault toilets and no potable water, so bring plenty for drinking and cooking. Land of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs lies nearby; tribal land is private, so stay on public ground. From Maupin, follow Highway 216 west for about 23 miles and turn northeast on Forest Road 2110 for 2 miles.
