Hoodview Campground sits on the shore of Timothy Lake at about 3,200 feet, in the Zigzag Ranger District. From Highway 26, drive south 9 miles on Skyline Road (Road 42), then turn west on Forest Road 57 and go about 2 miles to the entrance.
The forest setting comes with views, several trails to explore and plenty of lake fishing. Campers have their own boat launch, some sites sit right on the lakeshore, and six hike-to sites put a little distance between you and the car. Barrier-free campsites and restrooms, vault toilets and drinking water are all available. Portland General Electric runs it with the Forest Service.
