Hideaway Lake Campground is a single loop of sites set above Hideaway Lake, a high Cascade lake in the Clackamas River Ranger District. Douglas fir, hemlock and other conifers form a thick canopy overhead, and rhododendrons plus generous spacing give each site real privacy. It’s a calm, restful place to fish, picnic or take out a boat without a motor.

From Highway 26 beyond Government Camp, follow Forest Road 42 south, then Forest Road 57 west, Forest Road 58 north and Forest Road 5830 west for 5 miles. The road between Shellrock Creek and Hideaway Lake campgrounds is rough, with washboard and potholes. There are no restrooms or drinking water.
