Up on a high ridge in the Barlow Ranger District, Bonney Meadows is a small, quiet campground beside a lush meadow. Single-track trails run along the meadows and see hikers, bikers and horseback riders, and Bonney Meadows Trail #471 makes a fine morning walk straight from camp. Horse corrals are on site.
Getting there takes some care. From Forest Road 48 off Highway 35, head north on Forest Road 4890, then continue onto Forest Road 4891 for the final 4 miles. That last road is unimproved, and high clearance or four-wheel drive might be needed. There are vault toilets but no drinking water.
