Black Lake Campground has primitive tent sites and a day-use area along Black Lake’s east shore, at about 3,700 feet on the Hood River Ranger District. The drive from Hood River follows OR-281, Kingsley Road, and Dead Point Road before finishing on Forest Road 2820.
This is a rustic spot that sees fewer visitors than the more developed sites, and day visitors come to picnic. The nearby Black Lake Trail links to a trail network reaching north into the Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness. There are vault toilets but no drinking water. Pack out everything you bring and leave no trace.
