Tall ponderosa pines shade Bear Springs, a campground in the Barlow Ranger District on Indian Creek, right where the national forest meets Warm Springs tribal land. Along with its group sites it has single-family sites, and both tents and RVs fit. Most people come in on Highway 216, driving west from Pine Grove; the campground also sits off US Highway 26.

Anglers can try Indian Creek, and picnic tables make mealtime simple. Expect vault toilets and no drinking water, so bring what you need. A concessionaire, Alaska Recreational Management, runs the campground, and the host sells firewood.
