Forest Creek Campground lies on the historic Barlow Road, now Forest Road 3530, in the Barlow Ranger District. Pioneers came by here on the final stretch toward the rich valleys on the west side of the Cascades. Few of them camped, but they watered their animals and themselves at the creek and might have paused for a short rest.
Today you can ride east up to Boulder Point for a look around, or head west toward the White River. The creek has fishing, and there are vault toilets but no drinking water. From Tygh Valley, follow Forest Road 48 west, then Forest Road 4885 about a mile southeast.
