An old-fashioned cabin stay is the draw at Olallie Lake Guard Station, where a massive stone chimney, wood interior, and hand-wrought ironwork are all well preserved. The historic cabin sits at almost 5,000 feet near its namesake lake, which puts fishing and other outdoor pursuits within easy reach.

From Highway 26, take Skyline Road (Forest Road 42) and then Forest Road 4220 to the lake, or come from Estacada on Highway 224 and Forest Road 46 past Ripplebrook Ranger Station. The cabin falls under the Clackamas River Ranger District. There are vault toilets but no drinking water, and snow blocks the road to the lake in winter.

  3. In about 9 miles turn right onto Forest Road 4220 (at the gate) and continue 5 miles to the resort.

Road notes

The road to Olallie Lake is inaccessible in the winter due to snow.
