Set along Timothy Lake’s north shore at about 3,200 feet, North Arm Campground is part of the Zigzag Ranger District, with Mt. Hood looming over the area. Portland General Electric runs it in partnership with the Forest Service. To get there, head south from Highway 26 on Skyline Road, cross Timothy Lake Dam, and wind around the lake on forest roads.

The 12 main sites take tents or RVs, and four hike-in sites suit anyone after a rougher stay. A boat launch and dock get you onto the water to fish or swim, and the Timothy Lake Trail is reachable from camp. You’ll find vault toilets, picnic tables, and drinking water, but parking is limited.
